re: Eta Carinae outlook

Perhaps a core sample of ice could verify this claim of brown smog from settling deposits of the smog.

Rho Cassipea(sp) 10,000 lys away is another star that could go supernova and is of much interest, but like Eta Carinae might not happen for 10,000-50,000 years or tomorrow.

GRB happen every day in our galaxy.

APOD has had several photos and explanations on Eta Carinae and gamma ray burst over the years.

Supernova, hypernova a lot of hype they get.
