While you're looking for bits of junk on the Martian surface
While you're looking for bits of junk on the Martian surface, keep your eyes open for the parachute, backshell and heat shield. Also there's a slight chance that pieces of the cruise ring might have survived entry and are laying about out there.
The backshell is white and cone shaped. There will be three burned out rocket motors inside it and the parachute will still be attached by a long rope (bridle).
The heat shield is a flat disk and was originally brown (might be black now).
The cruise ring will be bits of blackened metal.
