actually, by most accounts its 10-30 thousand NC's, with a likely estimate at just under 12
Untrue. The most detailed analysis I have seen can be found here. This is where I got my numbers, and I stand by them. For the record, the same source calculates a maximum of 15,000 casualties, including military ones. Attempts to inflate the number have been constant, and no doubt without access to such documentation the number of dead Iraqis quoted by the anti-war groups would be around half a million by now.
Saddam was bad
We got saddam
Therefore, we did the right thing.
The alternative to this is not "Saddam was not bad." Although it isn't exactly in syllogism form, it is something like this:
Saddam was bad.
But not bad enough yet to kill us.
Leave him alone. Things can only get better.
Or maybe we can simplify:
Saddam was bad
We did not get Saddam
Therefore, we did the right thing
Does that hold up any better?
I like the first one, myself. There are two fewer tyrannies on Earth, and more are tottering. If that makes me a troglodyte, unworthy to hold my head up in a roomfull of reasonable people trying to figure out if someone is a tyrant or not, so be it.
