re: Moon base vs Moon bus

It's fascinating to look at the bases at the South Pole and think about them as analogues to lunar bases. How many people know that a base there was nuclear powered until 1972?

I personally think lava tubes on the Moon have a lot of potential as habitation sites. You'd still need pressurized volume, but the underground tube would take care of most sun and radiation problems.
