...is inevitable failure. Its this kind of "you need to be grateful to us" thinking that created the 1960's "ugly American." Their reaction against U.S. paternalism is completely predictable. They didn't invite us in to topple Saddam. Nor did they pick up arms to fight along side of us. We are regarded as a temporary inconvenience - and a hostile occupier. If you don't understand this, you don't understand the culture of Islam. Its clearly apparent that Mr. Bush hasn't a clue either.
