I have walked the Kelso Dunes of southern Caifornia. Even have my picture in an old Sierra Club Calendar walking these dunes. THey are singing dunes and they do, indeed, "sing." Upon starting a slow landslide the dune hums - actaully quite loudly. If you run down the dunes they make sounds like notes on a trombone with each step.
