I like the idea of an Eagle type craft.

As in the Eagles from the "Space 1999" show from the early 1970s. A flying crane type craft which could taxi people and equipment from LEO to the luner surface. The overall design of the craft is modular and could be assembled and mantained at an orbiting station. Not only is it a simple and practical design, it also looks very cool. Imagine the kind impact watching such a craft shuttling back and forth from LEO to the moon would have on the public.
