"Kerry was asked about Bush's space initiative tonight, and his response was very negative. He gave some perfunctory words about supporting science, said we should focus on finishing ISS and continuing with robotic probes, and then scoffed at the idea of sending people to the Moon or Mars anytime soon given all the needs we have for the money down here on Earth. This was a private conversation with an attendee after the formal Q&A was over so I couldn't catch everything that was said, but that was the gist of it."

I am absolutely shocked, shocked I tell you.
I am so used to Kerry fliping his stance on each and every issue that it is positively shocking to see him stay consistently anti-manned space exploration. No change of position there.
He mouths platitudes about technology only to appease his hi-tech Boston area voting constituency. JOBS.
