That's a bit weird...

A leftist complaining that we're spending too much on farmers, education, and Medicare.

You are aware that every single Democratic candidate has proposed spending that would be even higher?

- If the policy agenda of any one of the eight candidates were enacted in full, annual federal spending would rise by at least $169.6 billion (Lieberman) and as much as $1.33 trillion (Sharpton). This would translate to a yearly budget hike of between 7.6% and 59.5%.

- All candidates offer platforms that call for more spending than would be offset by repealing the Bush tax cuts (using even generous estimates of the tax cuts' impact).

Any Democratic politician talking about fiscal responsibility is lying in their teeth. Their goal is and always has been to maximize the size and power of government. They aren't concerned with deficits, or taxes, or anything else besides gaining power. The deficit is just a current convenient attack point on Bush. If the budget were balanced, they would be bitching about how he's not "investing" enough in America.
