He's no lefty. While the Democrats may be proposing increased spending on their own pork when the time comes they will likely be reducing some of the Republican pork to compensate, plus raising taxes to cut down the deficit.
To be fair though, nobody has spelled out those parts but in this stage of the cycle candidates are usually appealing to their own base not the swing voters. The election will likely swing on whether the Democrats can produce a fiscally responsible plan.
Also Democrat spending would be likely to stimulate the economy since it targets people who spend with a high multiplier.
