I don't know if you were around, alcaray.

I gave a ride to a couple of hikers a bit over a year ago. They flew in from the East Coast and needed to get to Cascade Locks and have some food stashed up toward Packwood. One of them was the retired head of NOAAs Climate department. I asked him about global warming.

He said there are three answers. First, there is no doubt climate warming is occurring at a runaway rate and it is man caused.

The second answer is from the energy industry, that is normal variation and that Man has had nothing to do with it. They follow the tobacco industry model of denial and public relations.

The third answer is from the Fundamental Christians, and that is God gave Man the Earth and it will all be fine.

He said the only question remaining from a scientific view is what will happen as a result, how Man will handle it as well as the other species. He added no one could predict that. It can't be stopped now.

For me, that settled it. The crazies can do what they want, and will do what they want.
