Word parsing?!?
Cripes, Ed. Its an AP article with direct quotes from Mr. Kay. What part of these direct quotes from Mr. Kay do you regard as "word parsing:"
"If you cannot rely on good, accurate intelligence that is credible to the American people and to others abroad, you certainly cannot have a policy of pre-emption."
"Pristine intelligence, good accurate intelligence is a fundamental bedstone of any sort of policy of pre-emption to be even thought about."
"I think most of us would have greater doubts. I would hope even the president would have greater doubts until we understand the fundamental causes..."
The gist of that article is that Mr. Kay is stating that our failed intelligence on Iraq's WMD's is a serious problem that needs to be corrected. I can't believe that even you would disagree with that statement. Prior to the war Mr. Bush claimed that Iraq possessed active stockpiles of hundreds of tons of chemical and biological weapons. That this turns out not to be true is a serious problem, irregardless how you feel about the war. Even you should be able to recognize that.
