re: If we had not invaded Iraq...

The UN weapons inspectors would probably be finishing their work about now.

And how would you know they had finished? How would they know? Would a bell ring, or something? Does Saddam yell "Bingo!" Is there a little counter like in my son's video games that lets you know? "150/150 Secrets Found!"

We have found out what we know now through almost ten months of hundred of people with totally unrestricted access to all of Iraq. This simple and obvious fact seems to escape the second-guessers.

The United Nations would never have accomplished this, even with the U.S. military holding a gun to Saddam's head, and Kay and others have provided evidence of huge amounts of information that had been successfully hidden from them, and that they never would have found under the conditions the U.N. was forced to work under.

For corroboration of Gen. Kamel's assertion, read the final paragraph of the Newsweek article

Oh, TWO defectors. Well, I guess that settles THAT. There were also two defectors who said Salman Pak was being used to train terrorists to hijack airplanes. Does that make it true?
