Science is a lot like playing twenty questions. A good tactic for playing the game is to start by asking if it's animal, vegetable or mineral. A bad tactic is to first ask: Is it Jullius Ceasar?
Since 1976 we have been asking: Is there life on Mars? A much better starting question: Is Mars covered with olivine? The answer appears to be yes. The quality of science concerning Mars is just about to undergo a huge quantum jump and it's about time.
