Betsy, the argument technique we are dealing with is that anyone who supports Bush is assumed to be a liar, or at least suspect, while anyone who damages Bush is assigned a high level of credibility.

Campenni is not the only Guardsman who has stood up and confirmed Bush's service. Naturally, all of them are called liars by those who want Bush brought down, and the media and others have spared no effort analyzing timelines, and stripping these witnesses to the bone to try to prove them wrong.

Kerry, and more reasonable analysts, have backed off from this issue. There never was anything to it, and choruses of angels shouting "questions remain" don't change the facts in evidence. The Bush haters will be examining these records and interviews to the microscopic level until the election. Look for "revelations" about every other week.

Did you notice how fast the denials from the principals in the Kerry "intern flap" were instantly accepted as credible with no further questions by these same people? No examination of inconsistencies, no attempts at interviews, no digging through records, nothing. No "questions remain." Case closed. "Stick a fork in it."
