I am always impressed by the huge number of windows on science fiction spaceships. Particularly on battle cruisers designed to carry troops and resist attack from energy weapons. Even some supposedly robot ships in science fiction have lots of windows. Cynics say it is a cheap visual trick, dating back to the original Star Trek, to give an unconscious sense of huge scale in the minds of people who are used to looking at large buildings at night, but I say that it is a sign that the Empire cares for its storm troopers to give each one a room with a window. Maybe they are trained to shoot hand lasers out through the glass.
