re: Rare bird sighting
I get to see a B-2 every year or so. My deck has a good view of the Air Force Academy football field. A B-2 will frequenty fly over when Air Force is playing Army or Navy at home. I've seen dozens of planes fly over in the years I've lived in my current home. As an airplane lover, it's cool. As a taxpayer, I'm not so happy about it. With the exception of trainers and small helicopters, each of those planes costs thousands of dollars per flight hour to operate. Flying over the Academy may be good for morale, but it seems a poor use of limited training hours.
