Actually, I don't mind military aircraft being sent out to airshows from time to time so the public can see them. I'm objecting to spending over a million dollars for flyovers at an Academy football game. The number of planes varies from game to game, but the game I attended last year (not the service academy rivalry game, either) had over 20 flyovers. As much as I love planes, that just seemed like a waste of money. Now, if one of the A-10s had flown a mock straffing run over the opponent's bench, that would've been cool. As it was, Air Force won the game without having to call in a air strike. They're mostly a running team, anyway.
