not holding people incommunicado for as long as the president wants to, not subsidizing farm products and flooding other countries with them, for respecting international law, for voting to stop the spread of small arms, to stop money laundering, all that sort of thing?

Because they respect other peoples, don't do things which have "collateral damage" to thousands and thousands of innocent people, is that why?

Maybe because they respect treaties, don't have enough nukes to wipe out civilization 1000-fold and want to build more.

I know there are other reasons, don't know why you think they are safe.
