me too REB

I lost my left eye over a year ago, and have followed these stereo discussions with some sadness. But am also impressed that apparently moderator Robert, who is developing a type of stereo viewing system, himself can't see 3D very well. Goes to show how some people shine when life gets tough.

Cues fior 'depth vison' with one eye are object occultation as you say, and also relative motion - I can still catch ball. Object recognition is important, but one can get caught out - eg mistaking a far away bird for a close-up moth. Darkness is very difficult - I need to watch out for steps which *don't* look 3D in the dark! Kinesthetic sense is very helpful - so I can still play piano and do tasks with no problems.

Email me REB if you would like to compare notes..
best wishes .. Daniel
