Go to the bottom of the following linkand you'll see Kerry uttering the standard bull poop about space:

>What we need to do as we enter this dawn of the 21st century, is not talk
>about going to the Moon or even to Mars. We need to go to the Moon right
>here on Earth by creating the jobs, building the high value-added jobs of
>the future...

Now the thing about Kerry is he really does not have a policy about anything. If tomorrow he gave a speech to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, I'm sure he would have voiced the stand politician's rhetoric about mankind's destiny in Space, the need for high technology, etc. Kerry is only concerned about getting elected and will tell people what ever he thinks they want to hear.

I might add that I'm still not convinced Bush is serious about Space Exploration. Bush's new space initiative does not really get started until 2009, one year after he leaves office (assuming he get's re-elected). Bush's hidden agenda might be "bait and switch", e.g. promise a future Space Program while spinning down the Shuttle and ISS then renege on the original promise using some slender pretext. IMHO, the Space Program is in the pooper, no matter who gets elected.
