I think I did this right:
It's from the raw images, with the before image enlarged to match the after image and aligned using the four spheres for reference. The upper left one doesn't quite match...or does it?
Cool, yeah? I'm still resolving the rotation of the RAT grooves verses various linear features.
quick thoughts:
The high albedo materal ("white") in the before picture appears to be a surficial weathering product. Sulfosalts? Will the fresh surface (dark gray) show a strong sulfur signal? Great thing 'bout weathering: it shows features a fresh surface doesn't.
The RAT leaves a powder in on the lee side of the spheres and the linear voids. Small voids in the gray, smooth fresh surface create the smearing of the white substance. (?)
There is layering in the RAT'd matrix (dark gray, under the upper right sphere). Does it appear softer than the basalts we've seen?
They may need to go deeper to get a truely fresh surface.
Whatever that hooked shaped thing was (in the center), it's gone.
