re: no apparent bedding in grinds
There's no apparent bedding in either Opportunity RAT sites. Sol 34 grind area pics look like extreme micro turbidity at time of deposition suggesting at least to me that part of the outcrop was airborne ash. Sol 33 grind pics remind me of calcite accretions--which they are not so far as I know, but suggesting to my mind liquid deposition. The apparent bedding lines visible before the RAT is used on both sites simply disappear. The Opportunity Rover won't have to ever leave this crater to give the scientists plenty to think about.
