I made a cool discovery this weekend at my neighborhood Half Price Books. They have National Geographic on CD-ROM. They have every issue scanned, from cover to cover. You can flip pages, adjust the scale, print any issue or article, jump to any article, and much more.

Each set is 3 disk that cover a decade. That is 39 issues per disk! They were used (Didn't look it- no scratches) at $4.95 each for a 3 disk, 10 years set (120 issues).

They have been out since around 1998 or so. I just now discovered them.

It is so much easier to store, browse and search National Geographic this way.

I am donating all my old dusty National Geographic to the local Library. It goes back to 1972.

I can’t quite part with the issues that have the Apollo Missions, Viking and Voyager articles, but everything else can go.

Now if Astronomy Magazine would do the same, I could get rid of 3 decades worth of those.
