Anyone can buy air time.
Groups other than the candidates' official campaign organizations have been known to run ads for and against individuals running for office.
There's no reason to believe that Nader had anything to do with the campaign ads run by Republicans on his [ahem] "behalf" in the last Presidential campaign, and no reason to believe that he would have anything to do with a similar strategy this time. There's also no reason to believe that a Republican organization that successfully ran such ads in the past would not do so again.
Recently, I have heard oral statements by the candidates at the beginnings of many political ads actually sponsored by supporters of a candidate, such as (paraphrasing), "This is George W. Bush. I have authorized this advertizement as part of my reelection campaign." One presumes that Nader has not made a lead-in statement of this sort on campaign ads run by non-supporters who seek to use his candidacy as a wedge against another opponent.
I know Perot was self-funded. He certainly had the money to do so. I was unaware that he received consulting fees from the Clintons. Can you provide me with details, and a news article or two, please? Numbers with dollar signs in front of them and dates would be nice too.
Current Events » in reply to Perot was self fundinmg and got his back in consulting fees for Hillary care.
