re: Suspected Beagle parts strewn across mars found
Nothing at the MGS (www.msss.com) site about it, but perhaps Pilinger talked to the press before Malin was ready to say anything. Does Mars Express have enough resolution to do it?
If it is Beagle as a "string of pearls", that would suggest it was on course and survived reentry and failed later in the process -- after parachute deployment apparently. That's useful information, though from the great analysis Gary has brought to us if it survived reentry it sounds like that alone was sheer luck.
