They got their name, "buttmonkey texanii bushster", because of an uncanny resemblance to a United States politician with prominent ears and a permanent smirk. The "bushster" variation is rather low in intelligence and is quite aggressive.
Taxonomists say they do not know if they were named because their heads or tails resembled that politician. While very rare, their faces resemble their, well, butts. That is regarded as an inherited safety measure which might make other dumb animals think it was walking forward when in reality it was walking backwards toward the Middle Ages.
