You're getting off-topic here Tom, but since you started it.......
>"The military attacks enemy targets, and civilian deaths are mistakes."
Mistakes! Thousands of them. Our soldiers come back traumatized because of these "mistakes". Arms, legs, heads blown off. Young, old, civilian or military......all "mistakes"!
Let's make a remark about RobVG here....he considers himself a "mistake", and he's ALIVE!!
(Should I feel sorry for him?)
Second one. I have to address this one because it hits your blind spot, as Bowser so aptly names it. >"Do let me know when al Qaeda or Hamas expresses regret for what they do. They did it on purpose, you see." Yup, and we blast them back twice or twenty times as hard....and we DO IT ON PURPOSE!
Hasn't anyone figured out yet that this is not the way to do it? Because by blasting back we kill more "mistakes", and oh hell, you have an endless cycle of killing "mistakes"....."on purpose".
Duh. I'm beginning to think that those who hold the power in this world are as ignorant as Melissa Rowland.
I'll go back to intelligence and specialized groups to handle terrorism as Mary Anne suggests. Demonizing whole groups of people and going after them blasting away is not exactly the way I'd fight terrorism.
