Ed said>"I think the allegations of civilian deaths in this war miss the point entirely, and avoid the fact that saddam had turned Iraq into a concentration camp."
10,000 "mistakes, right Ed? The point of this pre-emptive war was??
To kill 10,000 people just to "free" them?
Sadam's rule was cruel, but his society was functioning. Now, there's a huge problem with the jobless, fewer functioning hospitals, lack of sanitary water, blown out markets and a growing number of people who want their country back. We took their oil and their banks....yup......that looks like "freedom" to me.
And as for this>"the sanctions were allowing saddam and his pals in France, Germany and elsewhere to profit ".
What, did you expect Sadam not conduct commerce with all his natural resources? What was he supposed to do.....shrivel up and die because we said so? Do you not expect other closer countries to do business with him??
Listen, the oil barons and the defense magnates at the top in this country, do as they damn well please, and to hell with international law.
Where do you get your ideas from?
Current Events » in reply to The left claimed that under the sanctions millions of Iraqi babies were dying and thousands starving
YOU miss the point entirely!
