Rantisi on receiving end of high explosives. For a change.
In my early space design days, I studied a concept called "Thor" that would drop hardened high-temp metal rods from orbit with a terminal guidance system. Depending on the technology, they could actually hit pinpoint targets, using sheer kinetic energy for destructive force.
Such a system could nail a target deep in the center of a nation, and no one would ever see it coming until it was too late. A superb assassination tool.
I often wondered what would happen if some aggressive tyrant was nailed with one of these things. And then the next guy. And then the next one. Until things changed.
Israel seems to be trying this now. I've never seen it actually tried. I guess we'll see what happens.
