Windows in spaceships

A spaceship must have windows! Astronauts must be able to look outside at the universe with their own eyes...

But...

Windows are very heavy (a weight penalty), fragile , very often scratched or damp. They even can cause leaks!
And what do astronauts see anyway? Other than the Earth or the Moon...nothing but black.

So why not build a CEV without windows?

Astronauts would be able to see outside through a video in their helmet (or a laptop) and cameras mounted outside could provide them with a great view (even corrected ).
