but not the first new powerplant. The Navy has bought quite a few nuclear reactors in the past 30 years for things like Trident, LA class, and Seawolf class subs as well as Nimitz class aircraft carriers. Without those purchases, nuclear reactor R&D and construction would've died in America long ago.
