Pete....

Do me a favor.

As an Okie, I lived through the Okla bombing. I felt it in my feet, walking to my university classes that day- all those people dying (didn't know 'till I got to the student center... Saw the TV, thought it was Beirut again). I have friends and family that were there digging or were driving loads of shovels and chainsaws downtown in their trucks before the first news story hit the TV.

Its a relatively simple case that is pretty tight. About the only loose end are the Right Wing Religious nuts over in Elohim city, around the Arkansas line, where if memory serves that little nazi b1+ch got planted after his execution.

You are always, always going to find odd-ball documents that say spooky things in any large investigation that involved thousands of people, hundreds of witnesses and hundreds of thousands of pages of documents. The Ufoologists know this, and make their living off of it.

Nothing the Nichols and McVeigh did required any special knowledge. Nothing they did required any genius. None of their resource demands were not satisfiable off of more than cheap living and minimum wage jobs.

There was a community of deep paranoia and hate in the midwest at that time. There still is, but oddly McVeigh and Nichols embarassed that pseudo-movement nearly to-death. There were a lot of people exercising their freedom of speech to put out documents that weak minded fools like McVeigh and Nichols would buy into, and would hold all the information needed to carry out the attack.

Thats pretty much the end of it. McVeigh and Nichols were acting with the active support of nobody else. They were influenced by a community of hate and violent bigotry. Fortier and a few other nuts in the midwest might have known what was 'planned', but all those fruits and special-ops wanna-bes had their own little scenarios and plans for whatever pocket armageddon they wanted to take place. Thats really all there is to it.

You want to see a McVeigh or a Nichols? Drive down any red dirt road in oklahoma and look for the defunct family farms. Look at that guy sitting on the porch in fatigues, having just got back from a tour of military service because there was nothing else life had to offer for him. Thats the next McVeigh.

I think we want such bloody-mindedness and such butchery to be part of something big and powerful and capable... But in this day and age all a tripple digit body count requires is an internet connection, just the right balance of ignorance and cometency, and a burning hatred.

There was/is no conspiracy, there was just a white trash SOB and a Ryder truck full of Amfo.
