“The sanctions on Iraq largely created by the US kept them impoverished. The people, that is. DIDN'T HURT SADDAM, and the US knew it at the time.â€
Do you ever blame Saddam …for anything?
After the Gulf War ended in 1991, the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein began an ambitious civil engineering project aimed at deliberately draining the marshes to permit military access and greater political control of the Marsh Arabs
"Devestation"
This example and others- like plowing dollars and resources into presidential palaces, shows that the crumbling infrastructure was caused by neglect- not sanctions.
You don’t seem to mind the estimated 5 billion dollars in kickbacks, mainly to Russian and French contractors, in the oil-for-food scandal- but you bitch about American contractors choosing to putting their lives at risk (four shot, burned and mutilated) trying to make a buck.
I guess we should just give control to the UN and allow the French and Russian contractors to take the Iraqi's money - since they’re so good at it.
