Just when I think NASA and JPL have a finger on the whole PR component of space, I think they really missed an opportunity (no pun intended) this weekend by not releasing the new images of Endurance Crater to the media. Would've been quite a coup to see that spectacular image plastered across my Saturday or Sunday newspaper front page instead of letting the rest of the goings on in the world take center stage. Heck, as of this morning their websites are still 4 or 5 sols behind again on releasing raw images. I'm sure they're busy as beavers sucking in the new science that the new vista is affording them but, without keeping the public enthused about what they're finding, funding and support have this way of falling apart.
JPL's missed opportunity
