A front-page news piece in The New York Times was followed yesterday by an editorial denouncing Disney for censorship and denial of Moore's right to free expression.
The NY Times can be a fun place, and her editors can be just plain funny.
The flick in question was funded by Miramax Films, and is likely owned -- lock, stock, and barrel -- by Miramax Films. Disney owns Miramax Films -- also lock, stock, and barrel. The "censorship" (AKA handling) of the film is completely in Disney's hands, and they are well within their rights to withhold it, whereas Moore is stepping broadly outside his right, demanding complete control for that which his does not own.
If Moore has something to say, he needs to fund the project himself, and handle the distribution himself. Hell, he could get a permit and show it in Central Park for that matter.
