re: Not necessarily . . .

First of all, I don't recall any right to be "heard". If there were, having complete control over my own, personal mute button would be Federal considered a crime. And I've been told many times that this is why radios have a dial to change from Stern to a classic oldies station.

And about Moore's distribution of "his" film, I'm pretty sure "his" film, which was funded by Miramax Films, actually still belongs to the same Miramax Films, which is owned by Disney and, provided the people involved (Michael Moore, Debbie Petriken, David Rumble, the filming crew, et al) have been properly paid for their work on the production, Disney would have every right to show the film, shelve the film, burn the film, or hand the film to Moore (or anybody else, for that matter) with their blessing.

In Gibson's case (for The Passion of the Christ), his personal company put the film together and owned the flicker outright. It was all his, to do with as he pleased.

In Moore's case, unless he holds rights to the film that he and Disney have been hiding, finding a new distributor is not as simple and option as might otherwise be thought.

As I stated at Current Events, it seems apparent to me that Disney has simply decided to not be a stage for Moore's political (AKA artistic?) agenda.

Cheers,
Dan
