Anecdotal reporting again?

I mentioned in an earlier post that reporters have a tendency to accept almost any input and report it, especially if it serves the worldview they're trying to project.

This may be an example of this phenomenon. The Associated Press put this online. And Drudge made it a bloody headliner.

Okay, I don't have the truth of it. Obviously, neither do many of the people in the article. But if this account doesn't stink to high heaven, but it does require opening at least one window.

Even assuming your average young military man would abuse a 70-year-old woman, does putting a harness on them and calling them a "donkey" sound like something an American would do? Or more like something somebody from the Middle East would make up?

I will be interested in seeing how this comes out. Ann Clwyd is apparently sympathetic to Blair.
