Yes, we are.

What a pitiful standard.

We make our own standard. Is that what it is?

God, I hope not. It wasn't the one I was taught to believe or to practice.

Maybe it's also time to stop believing -- and acting like -- the United States is always right. Sometimes we fail. Sometimes we're wrong. Whatever happened to humility as a virtue?

I was pleased that the President apologized. Maybe humility will make a comeback.
