"I'm not having any problem with definitions. If I were, I'm sure you could cite the dictionary, even though the Constitution would be the proper source."
Ok:
Definition: \Trea"son\, n. [OE. tresun, treisun, traisoun, OF.
tra["i]son, F. trahison, L. traditio a giving up, a
delivering up, fr. tradere to give up, betray. See {Traitor},
and cf. {Tradition}.]
1. The offense of attempting to overthrow the government of
the state to which the offender owes allegiance, or of
betraying the state into the hands of a foreign power;
disloyalty; treachery.
The treason of the murthering in the bed. --Chaucer.
Note: In monarchies, the killing of the sovereign, or an
attempt to take his life, is treason. In England, to
imagine or compass the death of the king, or of the
queen consort, or of the heir apparent to the crown, is
high treason, as are many other offenses created by
statute. In the United States, treason is confined to
the actual levying of war against the United States, or
to an adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and
comfort.

"I'll tell you something else: there is no statute of limitations on treason. Don't you think that someone would have brought charges by now if the accusation were valid at all?"
Do you think it's possible that a murderer could murder and not get convicted for murder? Do you think possible that person could be proven beyond any doubt to lie under oath and not be convicted? It costs money to bring charges, it's hard to prove in court of law that someone has committed treason. To answer your question, it wouldn't prove anything to me, if someone did or did not bring charges. All it would "prove" is that someone was able to bring charges- and "able" in this context means "politically capable". In a civil case "able" means have the willingness to spend the money to pay a lawyer to file a case.
Maybe someone will be "able" if Kerry is elected President- now, wouldn't that be fine TV viewing:).
"Why don't you listen to John McCain and shut up about this? Or do you believe that, if you say it often enough, it will become true?"
I have listened to John McCain and it is Kerry who brought it up [constantly] making it the major part of this campaign- therefore, perhaps you shouldn't tell me to shut up. Also McCain isn't the only person who has served:
"CNSNews.com) - Hundreds of former commanders and military colleagues of presumptive Democratic nominee John Kerry are set to declare in a signed letter that he is "unfit to be commander-in-chief." They will do so at a press conference in Washington on Tuesday."

"Senator Kerry,
We write from our common heritage as veterans of duty aboard Swift Boats in the Vietnam War. Indeed, you should note that a substantial number of those men who served directly with you during your four month tour in Vietnam have signed this letter.
It is our collective judgment that, upon your return from Vietnam, you grossly and knowingly distorted the conduct of the American soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen of that war (including a betrayal of many of us, without regard for the danger your actions caused us). Further, we believe that you have withheld and/or distorted material facts as to your own conduct in this war.
We believe you continue this conduct today, albeit by changing from an anti-war to a "war hero" status. You now seek to clad yourself in the very medals that you disdainfully threw away in the early years of your political career. In the process, we believe you continue a deception as to your own conduct through such tactics as the disclosure of only carefully screened portions of your military records. Both then and now, we have concluded that you have deceived the public, and in the process have betrayed honorable men, to further your personal political goals."
