"Maybe it's also time to stop believing -- and acting like -- the United States is always right. Sometimes we fail. Sometimes we're wrong. Whatever happened to humility as a virtue?"
Humility is a virtue and so is patience.
Where did these go?
You could probably write a few books on the topic.
It seems somewhat bizarre that the media has become obsessed on "saying I'm sorry", apparently since Clarke said, he was sorry for other people's screw ups.
Anyways, it seems like this is kind of stuff is in hot demand & Bush would probably do well politically play into it- as long as Bush doesn't take this too far- too far is where people are ROTFLOL.
I guess, I'm now waiting for Kerry will step up and tell us he is sorry for his treasonness behavior regarding Vietnam. It could be a *Clinton moment* and could change his political course from heading for complete a utter defeat in Nov. Though this would be tricky political spin [even Clinton would have a hard time trying to pull this off].
