T. B. - "I understand the desire to paint the entire war effort with this broad brush, but keep it to facts. Hell, in one of your posts you even haul the Patriot Act in on this."
Two realities. Three.
The first is that only after CBS made the abuse public did GBW & Co. find the acts to be objectionable. Oh, minor penalties to scapegoats. But no outcry.
Secondly, under the "Patriot Act" THE VERY SAME THINGS COULD BE HAPPENING TO UNTOLD NUMBERS OF AMERICANS and we would not know it. There would be no oversight, no review, no nothing.
People disappear into the "night and fog" gulag, at this president's disgression. Anyone.
Third, it's been demonstrated this administration can't be trusted to police itself. That "Patriot Act" takes away many of the rights those people in the memorial post you were so kind as to put up, many of the rights they died for.
Should scare the hell out of anyone, but most especially anyone who loves America.
