Nope. "Soft power" worked. And when he did have them, he didn't use them. Same reason.
So, the WMD idea was bogus from the beginning.
Now, do you want to make America safer, or do you want to try to kill everyone you don't like? And still make America less safe? Do you want to continue spawning terrorists wherever American power is used, creating enemies faster than GWB & Co. can kill them.
Then follow the present course. The US has never been more despised, Americans never more distrusted, and our country and each of us is less safe than we were 4 years ago.
Power has failed when it has to be used.
