They shot a mountain lion out of a tree up in Palo Alto. Not out in the hills. In the middle of the frigging town. In somebody's back yard. Just blocks from three schools. Eep.
Naturally, the animal lovers are pissed that they shot it, although the animal control people and cops explained how there were people in danger, and that tranquilizers are not predictable and take time to work. It may be the same cat that was bothering horses up by the Stanford Dish.
They shouldn't have killed the poor thing? The heck with that. We all know there are mountain lions out in the western hills. That's where the horses were. Okay, I can live with that. But mountain lions east of Middlefield Road! In the center of Palo Alto! That's just not right! I'm closer to the hills than this was!
I put up with squirrels, and possums, and since I put in my new pond, raccoons, but nothing that could eat me, my kids, or my dog. Sorry, it's them or me.
