Lets face it, there wasn't anybody (sane) who thought that Saddam wasn't a terrorist. He proved that to the world with his history of deceit, invading countries, mass murder, homeland destruction and craving for more WMD as a leader of Iraq.
To think that he was even a member of the United Nations makes me sick!.
That's the reason why the UN had sanctions against Iraq.
Plenty of other countries (the Soviet Union fort instance) where dictators violate human rights are members of the UN.
If Iraq didn't belong to the UN, could the UN have been able to send inspectors there?
