It's no secret that the radical Islamists, not just bin Laden, would love to see the Saudi leadership booted out and replaced with a radical fundamentalist Islamist tyranny. This ambition long predates the war in Iraq. The Saudi leaders have gotten along up until now by buying the terrorists off, but this could not last forever.
