I believe bin Laden is a Saudi.

You may be right about this.

Could he have a hand in the Iraq conflict? As leader of Saudi Arabia, you would probably not want Saddam Hussein as a neighbor. Get the hated Americans involved and let them kill each other.

He knows the history between the US and Iraq. Perhaps 9/11 was an attempt to get the US in a war with Iraq. Behind the scenes, push each side on.

I can see bin Laden's thoughts. “Those evil Americans will surly defeat Saddam. And After a bloody war, the weak American people will have no stomach for a war with Saudi Arabia when I run the country.”

Sounds like a James Bond plot.
