Current Events » in reply to "Tillman 'probably' killed by friendly fire." A tragic example.

A tragic example..........indeed....

and also one I really didn't need to hear. Which makes me wonder why it was reported? What/or whose purpose did this serve? Not the American people, not Tillman's family, not his fellow soldiers, not the military heirarchy, not the government, and not any general "right to know" the public might arguably possess.

There are some things we don't need to know---like how sausages are made- and this report of "friendly fire" serves no legitimate purpose and trivializes the death of an extraordinary soldier.

We have had "friendly fire" and "collateral damage" and other "fortunes of war" in every encounter and have had enough sensitivity to not try to grab a cheap headline by exploiting them excessively.

Let me add my apology to those that should be made to Tillman's family and fellow soldiers.

While we labor under the suffering under an inept administration, we need heroes. Tillman was one.
