That right-wing fanatic Adolph Hitler had his conservative right-wing government declare war on the US. We really didn't have much choice in the matter.

The US didn't decide to "pull Europes fat out of the fire" for the two years they were fighting and dying by the millions. And keep in mind, without the Russian front the outcome of this war might have been very different. The Soviets lost almost ten men for every one of ours.

WWII was a concerted effort of allies against an attacking enemy, it was not a cowboy "pre-emptive strike" against a non-combative nation. One that could be militarily over-run by a blitzkreig.
