.. of some jokes from the Stalin era -
- three gulag prisoners, circa 1940 .. first guy: "I was five minutes late for work - they arrested me for sabotage". 2nd guy: "I arrived five minutes early for work. I'm in for espionage." 3rd guy: "I arrived exactly on time. They realized I must have had a Swiss watch"
- It's five in the morning in Stalinist Moscow .. Yuri is in his room fast asleep. Suddenly there's a loud pounding on the door. Terrified, Yuri bolts out of bed and starts trying to climb out of the window. The pounding continues .. and a voice calls out - "it's alright comrade neighbour - there's nothing to worry about. I just need to let you know that the building's on fire"
